Meredith Papavasiliou (or, Papas for short!) is the founder and proprietor of iScribe Consulting.
With more than 20 years' experience, Meredith has developed a reputation for delivering the highest-quality professional and content writing while knowing instinctively how best to meet her clients' needs.
During her career she has specialised in the resources, agricultural and business sectors, with an acute focus on the needs and dynamics of regional Australia.
Such is her commitment to - and belief in - regional, rural and remote communities, that Meredith co-founded, and co-presents, the now internationally distirbuted podcast, Project Leap. Promoted as a Podcast for Doers, Project Leap is all about giving voice to, advocating for, and celebrating the regional, rural and remote innovators and entrepreneurs who have not only shown great leadership and mettle in their communities, but have lead by example by thinking big and taking The Leap!
The podcast is a space Meredith loves working in. Not only does she have the opportunity to meet some of the most inspiring people in the country - as well as from overseas - but she gets to rekindle a little of her love of radio. Having dabbled in the medium in North West Queensland and again throughout her career as an editor, Meredith loves the connection and engagement of good conversation.
Meredith has also developed a niche offering to meet the specific needs of social enterprises, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, with a cost-effective fee structure and efficient delivery.
Community and a strong sense of empathy and advocacy for small to medium community-centric enterprise is at the heart of why she does what she does and few understand better the need to clearly articulate a message to get that all-important cut through.
Active in the community, Meredith is also involved in the suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing space in her community, she is the Chairman of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Mackay Business Committee, she is a speaker and facilitator for local business and community events and she is a member of the CQUniversity Mackay Campus Regional Engagement Committee.
She is also an accomplished key note, topical and event speaker, having effectively engaged audiences of between 20 and 2000 people. She is a skilled facilitator, moderator and MC, having hosted a number of high level and community-based events, political debates and forums, and national panel discussions. She is as comfortable speaking alone as she is as a member of a panel.
During her career as an award-winning editor, journalist and newspaper executive, Meredith built community newspapers, business-to-business publications and magazines from scratch and has edited and overseen major one-of historical and community publications.
As a newspaper editor for almost 10 years, she won a number of coveted industry awards and has consulted to, and worked for, some of the country's most prolific news organisations. She has dabbled in radio, is prolific on social media and teaches at CQUni in the undergraduate disciplines of professional writing and digital media.
Her experience is matched by tertiary qualifications and high-level industry credentials, and as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism, Professional Writing and Communications) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She is also working toward her second Masters degree, this time, in Counselling, through the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC).
In her spare time, she is a mum to two children, a rather over-indulged Labrador (which also counts as a workmate) and has an enduring love of fine wine, excellent coffee and homestyle cookling and gardening.
Drop her a line Say hello! She would love to connect.
